Kim Smith

Kim Smith is a Sports/ News Reporter for WSFA 12 News. 

Kim graduated from The University of Georgia's Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication with a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast News and The College of Family Consumer Sciences with a Bachelor's degree in Consumer Journalism.

While attending UGA, Kim worked as a reporter, anchor, producer, and photographer for the school's daily newscast Newsource 15.

Kim spent her summers interning for Fox 5 Atlanta shadowing reporters, booking guests and assisting editors for the morning show Good Day Atlanta. She also interned at CW Atlanta assisting local entertainment and community affairs shows.  

Kim later moved to Nashville, Tennessee where she received a Masters in Sport Administration at Belmont University.

During her time in Nashville, Kim worked as a sports intern for the ABC affiliate News 2.

Kim had the opportunity to write daily sports stories, shoot and edit highlights for local high school and college teams. She also conducted interviews with players and coaches for the Tennessee Titans and the Nashville Predators.

Kim earned a spot as a "trusted" on-air member of the News 2 sports team, contributing feature stories for the Titans and fronting highlights for the weekly show Sports Xtra. 

Eventually, Kim found her self exploring the Mountain West and moved to Denver, Colorado to work at Altitude Sports and Entertainment. She assisted on-air talent, wrote and edited highlights from around the NHL and NBA for Denver Nuggets and Avalanche pre- and post game shows. 

Kim is happy to be back in the South and SEC country. When she is not on the sidelines or covering a news story, Kim tries to spend as much time with family and friends. She also enjoys watching sports, cooking, working out and traveling.
