PHOENIX (CBS5) -
A suspected male prostitute is accused in the shooting death of a Phoenix man whose body was found in an apartment on Monday, police said.
Waleed Gipson, 36, was arrested in connection with Friday's slaying of James Indihar.
When officers arrived at the Twin Palms apartment complex at 4323 North 27th Ave., they determined the victim has suffered obvious trauma, according to Sgt. Steve Martos.
Police said the woman who owns the apartment told detectives Indihar requested for her to find a male prostitute for sex. The woman told officers she returned to the apartment with Gipson and another man.
The woman said when she was in the bathroom, she heard what sounded like a firecracker, a court document stated. She said she saw Indihar lying on top of the dining room table. The woman said she and the two men climbed into the victim's truck and she dropped the men off in the area of 15th Street and Camelback Road.
When police questioned the woman, they were able to trace Gipson to a residence on North 17th Street. He was arrested and booked into jail on a charge of first-degree murder.
Gipson told police he suffers from blackouts and didn't remember being at the apartment.
