WSFA 12 News has confirmed that two inmates who were on the run from the Elmore County Jail have been recaptured in Florida.
Jamie Morgan, 40, and Jeremy Hadden, 33, were found in a Pensacola hotel Tuesday, according to Sheriff Bill Franklin. A U.S. Marshal's Task Force was working the case when the two fugitives were found.
Sheriff Franklin said Morgan was transported to an area hospital due to injuries sustained during his recapture. The sheriff said Morgan attempted to run and was injured, though he did not give specifics regarding the inmates condition.
Hadden is in custody in Pensacola and will be extradited by to Elmore County in the coming days.
Morgan, from Montgomery, had been in the Elmore County Jail for 51 days charged with six counts of second-degree theft of property. Hadden, from Mobile, had been serving in the Elmore County Jail for 224 days for prior escape charges as well as two counts of theft of property first-degree.
