A Clanton man has been arrested in connection to a 1998 murder.
39-year-old Jennifer Gail Hampton's body was found in October of 1998 when a driver noticed her off Hinkle Road in Clanton. The body was found to have been shot in the back of the head.
The case went cold, but was reopened in 2011. Using new technology, investigators were able to arrest 50-year-old Marty Joe Taylor in the case on Wednesday.
Taylor is currently being held on a $250,000 bond and has a preliminary hearing set for November 13th.
