The Cochise County Sheriff's Office says it is investigating a fatal shooting involving a deputy city marshal in Tombstone.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Carol Capas said a Tombstone Marshal's Office deputy went to a home at about 3:45 a.m. Saturday after the resident called to report someone was trying to break in.
The deputy went inside the home and found a man who appeared to be armed. He then fatally shot the man.
The sheriff's office and a Sierra Vista Police team are investigating.
Capas said the man who was killed was the apparent intruder and the home's resident wasn't hurt.
