MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
Excitement is starting to build for the inaugural Raycom College Football All-Star Classic at the Cramton Bowl complex in downtown Montgomery.
A major announcement was made Monday evening as the head coaches were introduced, as well as team names and uniforms.
Many All-Star games pit the north against the south, or east versus west. The Raycom All-Star Classic is going with a patriotic theme. It will be the stars vs. the stripes.
As for head coaches, NFL legend Dan Reeves is on one side and a former defensive guru in the NFL, Jim Bates, is on the other side.
Reeves participated in more Super Bowls as a player, assistant coach or head coach than anyone else with nine under his belt. He was the head coach of the Denver Broncos, New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons.
The players arrive in mid-January and the Raycom College Football All-Star Classic kicks off on January 19th at Cramton Bowl.
