PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) -
She has a love for literature. After teaching 5th grade for 17 years, Hope Davis wanted to do something different. She didn't leave the school. She just went from the classroom to the library. "I love the fact that they are so young and so excited about learning," Davis said.
She teaches at Prattville Kindergarten School. It's a school just for 5 and 6 year olds. "When you get a chance to start with them at the beginning and you can see the changes unfold from August to December, and December to May. They grow so fast."
Her goal is to get these young readers ready for the next level. "I enjoy the smiles on their faces, they meet me in the hallway and tell me how much they love that book."
It's just the first chapter in the school career for these youngsters, but they're off to a great start thanks to their teacher, Mrs. Hope Davis, this week's Class Act.
