Montgomery's Riverfront to host Wine Festival

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

A festival perfect for wine connoisseurs is planned this weekend in Montgomery.  Montgomery's Riverfront will play host to the Riverwalk Wine Festival Saturday, October 13th from 1:00 - 4:00 PM.  More than 100 wineries will be represented at the event, which include wine tastings from 10 different distributors.

Admission is $25 per person, which includes an etched commemorative wine glass, discounted wine purchases from participating local wine shoppes, food vendors, live music, and a discounted ticket for a special Harriott II Wine Cruise.

Picnic baskets and coolers are welcome, but no outside alcohol is allowed, per ABC Guidelines.

You can purchase tickets from RSVP Montgomery, Riverfront Facilities, Derk's Filet and Vine, Peppertree Steaks and Wines, or online at http://www.etix.com/ticket/online/venueSearch.jsp?venue_id=2867.

Wine distributors for the event are United - Johnson Brothers, The Wine Source, Rush Wines, Global Wines, Pinnacle Imports, Grassroots Distributors, Alabama Crown Distributing, A&J Wines, Vizzini Farms Winery, and Bodega de Mendoza.

The Renaissance Hotel is offering a special rate for Wine Festival guests.  For $150, you get one room and 2 tickets to the festival.  Guests must request the Riverwalk Wine Festival rate.

The Harriott II Wine Cruise boards at 4:30 PM, and runs from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.  There will be live music and cash bars.  Tickets are $10 with your Wine Festival Ticket and $20 without the purchase of a Wine Festival Ticket.
