MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

WSFA 12 News was the market leader when we moved to high definition local news broadcasts back on August 3, 2008.  We are now a fully high definition television station and our entire programming grid has switched to crisp, HD quality.

The brain of any television station is its master control system where all signals are routed. WSFA 12 News and our parent company, Montgomery based Raycom Media, have finished installation of a new HD master control here at the station.

What does that mean to you? That means we can now record and play back all your favorite shows at a much higher quality.

Network programming such as 'Days of Our Lives', and syndicated shows like 'Entertainment Tonight', 'Judge Judy', 'Judge Joe' and 'America Now', as well as our news broadcasts and commercials, are all being broadcast high definition.

"This is the natural evolution of what a station like WSFA 12 News should be doing," explains WSFA 12 News Vice President and General Manager Collin R. Gaston. "We always are looking out 3, 5, 10 years at what the next thing is. HD is just part of what we needed to do..."
