MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
The Alabama Department of Education is naming the members of an investigative team tasked with looking into allegations of grade-changing within the Montgomery Public Schools system.
The team includes Dr. Terry Jenkins, a former Auburn City Schools Superintendent; Mr. Larry Raines, a former high school principal and ACCESS Administrator for the State Department of Education; and Mr. A.J. Price, former technology coordinator and INOW contract specialist for the State Department of Education.
The team held an initial meeting Monday morning to map out review strategies and roles, as well as responsibilities. The investigation will begin with a review of existing student records representing the high schools in the school system.
Separately, the Montgomery County Board of Education moved forward with its own investigation, voting last week to approve the hiring of a private investigator by Superintendent Barbara Thompson.
School Board President Charlotte Meadows is also seeking an investigation by the Alabama Attorney General.
