NORWOOD, OH (FOX19) -

Charges have been dropped against a woman who was shown on surveillance video being roughed up by a Norwood Police officer.

Denise Diallo, 30, was facing charges of resisting arrest, possession and drugs and obstructing official business.

Surveillance video released last month shows Diallo being thrown up against a wall by Norwood officer Bobby Ward.

According to police reports, Diallo had stolen a car the day before then went back to the station to obtain some of her personal belongings. When officers told her they didn't have them, she allegedly lunged at them.

Diallo was then told she was under arrest and she fled. She was apprehended a short time later in the street in front of the station and handcuffed. Officer Ward claims Diallo kicked and scratched him. After she was taken back inside the station a surveillance video captured Ward apparently throwing Diallo across the room and into a wall, which she hit face first.

When Ward filled out the police report he wrote, "the defendant leaped from the officer's arms, while they were securing their weapons, jumping through the doorway, falling to the ground."

Ward was suspended for the incident.
