MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The man accused of robbing the Atlanta Highway Title Pawn location and shooting MPD K-9 Officer Bodi pleaded guilty in a Montgomery court on Monday.

Authorities say 20-year-old Frank Raven pleaded guilty to first degree robbery, two counts of assault second degree and the attempted killing of a police dog.

Raven robbed the Atlanta Highway Title Pawn location back on December 14, 2011, then ran and hid in a shed in a nearby neighborhood on Forest Park Drive. When an MPD K-9 Officer and his handler, Cpl. R.E. Tucker, tracked Raven to the shed, Raven attempted to run and in the process shot K-9 Officer Bodi while he was protecting his handler.

Bodi sustained multiple injuries during the incident and ultimately lost his left eye due to the shooting incident. He was retired from police duty and allowed to return to live with his handler. Bodi died from unrelated health complications in July.

Raven is scheduled to be sentenced on November 14. He faces 20 years to life in prison for the robbery charge. The assault and attempted killing of a police dog charges are misdemeanors - Raven faces approximately a year in prison for each misdemeanor charge.
