"Forrest Gump" author to speak at the Univ. of Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -

The author of the novel, "Forrest Gump" is scheduled to speak at the University of Alabama.

Winston Groom will speak at noon on Oct. 29 at the Ferguson Theater on campus. The event is free and open to the public. Groom is a 1965 graduate of the university. He is expected to talk about the influence of the university and football on his writing.
