COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -
A mother and her boyfriend are in jail after sending a one-year-old to the hospital.
One-year-old Travis Williamson was at his mother's home, when her boyfriend, Devonte Tyner, allegedly struck the small child in the head.
Family told News Leader 9 the mother, Deserae Williamson, took the child to the Medical Center, where he was air-lifted to the children's hospital in Atlanta with a cracked skull.
"...God be with him, because he need him… the only thing I'm worried about right now is Travis and his well-being, and how he's doing…[he's] laying up there by himself. It hurts - especially when we don't know how he's doing, " said Diane Roland, grandmother.
Tyner is charged with aggravated battery and child cruelty and Williamson is charged with reckless conduct. Both will have their first hearing in Recorder's Court Tuesday at 9 a.m.
