Little Orphan Annie got a lucky break during a Halloween traffic stop in south Louisiana.
A police officer in the town of Addis stopped a driver for speeding along Louisiana Highway One. The woman driving the speeding vehicle got out dressed as Little Orphan Annie. The driver was on her way to a costume contest at work, according to Addis Police Chief Ricky Anderson.
Anderson says once one of his officers stopped the woman, he was shocked to see her get out of her car dressed in an Annie costume.
"She was doing 62 in a 45 mile-an-hour zone," said Chief Anderson. "My officer was laughing so hard he did not ticket her."
Addis is located in West Baton Rouge Parish, just west of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Anderson says the officer sent Annie along her way with a promise from her that she'd slow down and he would not have to stop her again "tomorrow".
