TUSKEGEE, AL (WSFA) -
Tuskegee Mayor-elect Johnny Ford says fighting crime will be the first priority of his new administration. He hosted a town hall meeting at the Macon County Courthouse Thursday night.
Crime was on many residents' minds after two murders last week, along with other quality of life issues like code enforcement and access to health care. Ford proposes moving the police headquarters back down and says he will seek ways to re-allocate resource to the police department.
"Whether they need cars or equipment, they must have whatever they need to fight this war against crime," Ford said.
