CORDOVA, TN -

(WMC-TV) – A registered violent sexual offender was found living with seven children, who were not his biological kids, according to police.

James Moore is classified as a violent sex offender due to an "aggravated indecent liberties with a child conviction" in Kansas back in 2001.

He reported that he was living at a home in Cordova in June 2012.

While investigating a case involving Moore, officers found that he was living at that home with seven kids who are not his biological children.

According to the sex offender laws in Tennessee, that is illegal.

Violent sex offenders, who have child-aged victims, are not allowed to live with children who are not their own.

Moore was arrested. He is now charged with violating Tennessee's registered sex offender laws.

Action News 5 spoke with neighbors in the area, who said they were not alerted when Moore moved into the community.

Moore does not show up on the TBI or KBI sex offender registry.

But with bond set at $35,000, his current address, 201 Poplar, will remain valid for the near future.
