TIFTON, GA (WALB) -
The state's top college basketball recruit Brannen Greene has committed to one of the nation's top collegiate basketball programs at the University of Kansas.
Greene is the 22nd ranked player in the country by Rivals.com and had other offers from UCONN, North Carolina and Duke . Greene is a transfer from Mary Persons and will play his first season for coach Eric Holland's Blue Devils this year.
The 6'6 senior maintains a 4.0 grade point average which he points to as the main reason, other than basketball, he had some many top college programs wanting his services.
Greene said "I'm a 4.0 student so my grades have always been alright. That just helped make it easier. I didn't have to worry about any school, Duke, I could have gotten into there. Harvard, they recruited me, offered me. I could have gotten into there so it just widens up your options."
