WILLOUGHBY HILLS, OH (WOIO) -
Willoughby Hills police received a phone call from a resident on Chagrin Drive early Friday morning from a 13-year-old girl stating that her sister had a knife and was attacking her mother.
When police arrived on scene, the young teen ran out the front door to meet them. Officers then entered the home where they encountered an 18-year-old female covered in blood and holding a knife.
Police then entered the master bedroom and located the victim with multiple stab wounds. EMS personnel were unable to resuscitate her and she was pronounced dead on the scene.
The victim has been identified as 41-year-old Lisa Knoefel, and was the foster mother of the suspect.
The 18-year-old, identified as Sabrina Zunich, was detained and taken to the hospital. Police say she's a suspect in the investigation.
Neighbors tell 19 Action News they didn't hear or see anything. The woman who lived next door says the family has lived there about three years and kept to themselves, but they seemed very loving.
