Multiple accidents slow traffic along interstate 20

SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Multiple accidents slowed traffic along interstate 20 in Smith County Sunday afternoon.

According to the Smith County sheriff's office, two minor accidents in the westbound lanes of I -20 were causing the slow downs. The first was near mile marker 560 and the second was near mile marker 548.

Traffic is was reportedly backed up past the 570 mile marker.

As of 8pm Sunday evening, traffic was flowing smoothly.

    The Federal Aviation Administration's announcement late Wednesday comes nearly a year after the engine's manufacturer recommended the additional inspections, and a month after European regulators ordered their airlines to do the work.
