Iberville Parish

Nottoway Plantation Champagne and Candlelight Tours
For the first three weekends in December 14, 15, 21, 22, Nottoway Plantation is holding Champagne and Candlelight Tours. Tours are at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and include champagne for adults. There will also be a special Candlelight Tour dinner menu. Reservations required. Admission to the tour is $20 for adults, $6 for children 6-12 and free for children five and under. Holly Jolly Christmas Festival on December 22, 2012 in Plaquemine, LA at COPAC. Selectmen Jimmy Randle and Oscar Mellion are sponsoring the Christmas Festival and Parade. There will be caroling, face painting, a space walk, dancing, art, music, and of course food. Come by to help celebrate the season. It begins at 11 a.m. and will continue until 4 p.m.

West Baton Rouge

Get into the Holiday Spirit at the Reflections of the Season Christmas Light Display.  This drive through display is open to the public from December 1st - December 24th.  Open every night except Monday and Tuesday. For just $1.00 per person drive through the grounds of the West Baton Rouge Conference Center and view the beautiful displays of lights.

On Friday and Saturday nights come inside to enjoy special music, vendors, crafters, and visit Santa and his elves. Bears, Penquins and dog sleds make a great backdrop for your holiday pictures in the special holiday decorated rooms.  Cuddle up in a blanket next to your friends and loved ones and take a ride through the lights in a mule drawn wagon for a small fee.

On Saturday, Dec. 15th & 22nd there will be a snow patch 6:00 - 8:30 pm, $3.00 per child. Come have some cool fun in the snow!! Come enjoy a special night and make West Baton Rouge a family Christmas tradition.

Walker Country Christmas Festival at Sidney Hutchinson Park [December 15 | 4-8 p.m. ]
Take in the sights and sounds of the holidays at our Country Christmas Festival. Take a stroll through our Walker Wonderland, hum along with caroling choirs, hop aboard the Polar Express for a train ride around the park, build a snowman, bounce around or slide down the inflatables, drink hot chocolate and other festival fare, and await the dramatic arrival of Santa Claus. Santa's Wonderland- A Classic Christmas at Bass Pro Shops
Bass Pro Shops presents its annual Santa's Wonderland, a Christmas village with games, activities and crafts for the whole family, open through December 24th. The fun includes a laser arcade, Nerf gun range, video games, crafts and Santa photos. Admission is free, photo prices depend on packages. ZooLights at Baton Rouge Zoo Dec. 1-30 from 5:30-8 p.m. - ZooLights is a holiday tradition in Baton Rouge. Beginning Nov. 23, visitors will enjoy the lights and displays of all your favorite Zoo animals and holiday traditions. Walk through the Zoo and be amazed by larger-than-life light displays. Bring the whole family and get in the spirit of the season.

Caroling in City Park, Dec. 13 from 5-8 p.m.  -  Mark your calendars for BREC's Third Annual Caroling in City Park featuring a Park Lighting Ceremony, Candle Light Caroling and a host of other multicultural family activities for all ages to enjoy. The Reindeer Ride at Farr Park Trailhead, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. - Family fun and happy holidays are all part of this festive new nighttime program.  Participants may bring their bikes to the Farr Park Trailhead and chase "Rudolph" 6 miles up the levy to the USS Kidd.  Each rider will get a "holiday" glow stick and a free "blinking safety light." Annual Christmas Dinner at Alsen Park , Dec. 19 at 10 a.m.  - Take a day off from your holiday cooking or shopping to enjoy this great festive occasion with all the trimming, musical entertainment, prizes, fellowship and fun.

Inclusive Sunshine Holiday Social at Womack Park Dec. 21 from 6-9 p.m.  - Through a partnership with Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge, BREC is able to offer monthly socials for adults with disabilities and their friends and family.  There will be a disc jockey, snacks, door prizes, and not to mention socialization and fun.

The Nutcracker: A Tale from the Bayou - The Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre and the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra presents The Nutcracker: A Tale from the Bayou. This southern twist on the classic includes scenes of majestic Oak Alley, Nottoway Plantation and the Old State Capitol. Performances are Saturday, December 15th and Sunday, December 16th, at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. each day at the River Center Theatre for the Performing Arts. Tickets start at $20. Reflections of the Season - Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra Home for the Holidays. The Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra Masterworks Series presents Home for the Holidays. WInvestar Bank Masterworks "Home for the Holidays" featuring soprano Mara Bonde and the BRSO Chorus at the River Center Theatre.  Thursday and Sunday 7:30pm performances will be FULL concerts + intermission.
