MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The excitement is in the air for Saturday's SEC championship game in Atlanta. Many Alabama fans are already claiming victory as they look ahead to the BCS championship.

WSFA 12 News contacted the Miami Chamber of Commerce and the Miami Visitor's Bureau to obtain information for fans traveling to the game. We were referred to Orange Bowl Committee Vice President of Communications and Community Outreach Larry Wahl. Wahl says the city and bowl committee members are gearing up generally for whomever plays in the Discover BCS National Championship game.

"There's nothing special for any particular school. Once the teams are announced there will be signage and banners all over South Florida. There will be official greeters at both Miami International Airport and Ft. Lauderdale Hollywood International with information on things to do," Wahl said.

Wahl said there's a major fan experience event in the works on South Beach January 5-6, 2013.

"It will include team band performances on Saturday, a free concert featuring major national acts to be announced on Sunday, a zip line and other fun things for the fans to do. On game day, the Bud Light National Championship Fan Zone presented by Allstate will take place in the parking lot at Sun Life Stadium from 1:30p.m.-7:30p.m. featuring another major national act," Wahl said.

Wahl warns the game is completely sold, except for the allotments that the schools have. He suggests visiting www.orangebowl.org to find special deals through either school travel partners, including hotels in the Orange Bowl Travel Network.

"If they have tickets, it is highly recommended to purchase parking passes in advance if they are driving to the game as virtually all parking is on site and that will improve the flow of traffic," Wahl said.

Clay Ingram with AAA Alabama says planning ahead is very critical whether you're traveling by air or car. AAA along with other travel agencies will have travel packages available for fans.

"They're going to go very, very quickly. We will have travel agents available on Sunday afternoon by telephone from noon until 5p.m. Now our offices will be closed, but you can call your local branch number and it will transfer that call to our travel agents by phone," Ingram says.

Ingram says if you'd like, you can book a package now. Visit www.aaa.com for more information.
