HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) -

State Police have arrested a Hammond man for a fatal hit and run crash earlier this month.

According to reports, Michael Murtagh, 51, was driving north on LA 445 in a 2004 Saturn sedan when he struck Bruce Burge, 58, who was riding a bicycle.

Burge was found several hours after the crash.

Murtagh was booked into Tangipahoa Parish Jail on charges of negligent homicide and hit and run driving.
