A fan who was critically injured when he fell from the upper deck at Bank of America Stadium during the ACC Championship is improving as he remains hospitalized.
Sean Michael Powers, 22, from New Port Richey, Florida is now in fair condition at Carolinas Medical Center.
Officers were called to the stadium around 8:02 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1. Investigators say Powers fell 40 to 50 feet from a ramp onto the lawn outside.
They say Powers had just arrived at the stadium and was looking for his seat when the accident happened.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit Detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation.
Officers say the preliminary investigation indicates that this is a public accident.
