CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Employees at a Cincinnati business helped the Freestore Food Bank feed hungry children on Thursday.

Volunteers from Dunnhumby made 'power packs' for local kids in need, part of the Freestore Food Bank's Power Pack Program.

The packs are filled with nine to twelve food items that are easy to prepare, including canned fruit, 2% milk, cereal, red beans and rice, and applesauce.

Children receive the distributed power packs at Cincinnati-area schools each Friday during the school year to ensure they have something to eat on the weekend.

On Thursday, Dunnhumby donated $6,400 to the Freestore's Power Pack Program.

Officials say the donation is enough funding for kids at one school for the entire year.

According to the Freestore's website, nearly 100,000 children living in the tri-state aren't always sure where they'll get their next meal.
