ORLANDO, Fla. – LSU junior defensive end Sam Montgomery, linebacker Kevin Minter and safety Eric Reid have been selected to the Walter Camp All-America Second Team, the Walter Camp Football Foundation unveiled on Thursday night at the ESPN College Football Awards in Walt Disney World Resort.

The Walter Camp All-America Team is the nation's oldest All-America team, now in its 123rd year of existence. The Walter Camp Football Foundation – a New Haven-based all-volunteer group – was founded in 1967 to perpetuate the ideals of Walter Camp and continue the tradition of selecting an annual All-America team. The teams are selected by the head coaches and sports information directors.

Montgomery, a junior from Greenwood, S.C., leads LSU with seven sacks and he has 12 tackles for loss and 32 total tackles to his credit. For his career, Montgomery ranks eighth in LSU history in sacks (18) and ninth in tackles for loss (31.5).

Minter had a breakout junior season, leading the Tigers in tackles with 111 while ranking third in the Southeastern Conference in that category. In addition, the Suwanee, Ga., native was tops on the team in tackles for loss with 13.5 to go along with three sacks and five pass breakups.

Reid, recognized as one of the top safeties in the nation, ranks third on the team in tackles with 81. He's also picked off two passes and recorded six pass breakups while starting all 12 games this season.
