PONCHATOULA, LA (WAFB) -

A Tickfaw, LA man was killed in a crash Thursday night on S. Hoover Road in Ponchatoula, LA.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office says Rocco Van Berge, 52, of Tickfaw, LA was standing in the south bound lane of S. Hoover Road, near the shoulder, when a 1978 Oldsmobile Cutlass struck him.

The incident happened around 11:45 p.m.

The Tangipahoa Parish Coroner's Office arrived and pronounced Van Berge dead at the scene of the crash.

There is no word on why Berge was standing in the road. There is no word on if any charges will be filed.
