BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
Many voters
headed to the polls to vote in the runoff election Saturday.
Nearly 300
voters at six precincts in Port Allen cast their ballots.
The
big-ticket item in the city is the mayoral race.
Turnout in
the Capital City was not much different.
The stream
of voters seemed pretty steady throughout the day.
Those who
did get out to vote encouraged everyone to get out and exercise their right.
"And,
some people just feel like it's okay, but it's not okay," said Cathleen
Everson. "You're supposed to come out and vote just like you did for the
first primary."
"It is
our civil duty to vote and we all need to count," added Debra Garlington. "So,
we need to come out and...and count."
