LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -
According to the DPS report, 2 people were killed and one man was injured in a head-on crash in Polk County overnight.
The accident happened around 10:30 PM Saturday night near State Highway 146 near Old Providence Road.
The report says, 17-year-old Gerrit Jacob Klein of Goodrich was driving a 2003 Chevy Pickup southbound on Hwy 146 with 33-year-old Tiffany Ranee Semons-Lewandowski, also of Goodrich, in the passenger seat. DPS say 18-year-old Caleb Luke Edwards was driving a 2006 Dodge pickup northbound when he crossed the center line and hit Klein's truck head on.
Both Klein and Semons-Lewandowski were killed. DPS say Klein was wearing his seatbelt and it is unknown if Semons-Lewandowski was wearing a seatbelt.
Edwards was taken to Livingston Memorial Hospital with scrapes and bruises in stable condition. He was wearing his seatbelt.
Road conditions were normal. It is unknown if alcohol was involved in this accident.
