BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
Police have suspended its investigation into an incident that left a high school student hospitalized with a head injury.
The Baton Rouge Police Department said it believes the injury suffered by D'Vante Dotson, 16, a student at University High in Baton Rouge, was the result of an accident.
Sgt. Don Kelly with BRPD said officers would revive the investigation if new information is given to them.
The incident happened in the BREC park near Olympia Field on Nov. 24. His parents said they received calls from his friends that he was "unresponsive" in the park.
Paramedics were called to the scene and found Harris unconscious and bleeding. He was taken to the hospital, where he was in and out of consciousness for a couple of days.
He has since been released from the hospital and continues to recover.
