Local White Castles present check to Toys for Tots

(FOX19) -

Local White Castle restaurants helped brighten the holidays for a lot of needy children.

White Castle employees and Santa presented a check to Toys for Tots at a luncheon on Monday.

The restaurants raised more than $58,000 during their sixth year of fundraising for the foundation.

The event was held at the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve on Gilbert Avenue.

Lunch was also provided to the marines in attendance to thank them for their service.

The Toys for Tots campaign coordinator, Chief Officer Jason Scroggs, accepted the donation on behalf of the U.S. Marines.

Officials say since 2006, Greater Cincinnati White Castle locations have fundraised more than $280,000 for Toys for Tots.
