DETROIT (AP) - Nick Minnerath had 22 points and eight rebounds Monday night to lead Detroit to an 81-64 victory over Alabama State.
Juwan Howard Jr. scored 16 points, matching his season high. Ray McCallum had 15 points and eight assists and Jason Calliste contributed 11 points and five assists for the Titans (5-4).
Minnerath and Howard each connected on four 3-pointers. The Titans shot 58% in the second half and led most of the half by double figures.
Joshua Freelove and Shawntez Patterson scored 14 points apiece for the Hornets (0-7). Denzell McDaniel had 11 points and Luther Page had 10 points and nine rebounds for Alabama State. The Hornets shot 49% for the game while Detroit finished at 40%, but the Titans made 19 free throws to six for Alabama State.
Detroit led 39-36 at halftime.
