FOREST PARK, OH (FOX19) -
The Salvation Army made Christmas a bit brighter for hundreds of local families on Wednesday.
An annual program by the Salvation Army connected sponsors with families and seniors in need of Christmas gifts. Sponsors then 'adopt' a family or senior citizen for Christmas.
The event was held inside the Cincinnati Mall in Forest Park.
Program officials say this year's sponsors provided gifts for more than 1,800 people.
In total, more than 500 families and seniors walked away with Christmas presents for the holiday.
