CHELSEA, AL (WBRC) -
The lockdown at Chelsea
Middle School has been lifted after a search of the school yielded no threats
to students.
Deputies responded to the
school Friday morning around 9 a.m. to investigate a verbal threat made by one
student against another, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office said.
The student allegedly threatened
another student Thursday after they left the middle school's campus.
The school was placed on
lockdown for a little more than an hour as deputies searched the school. They
did not find any weapons at the school and no students were hurt.
Deputies spoke with both
students involved in the threat. The sheriff's office says one deputy will
remain at the school to continue to investigate the threat and "ensure
there are no further incidents."
