Police: Shots fired outside Western Hills HS, no one injured

WESTERN HILLS (FOX19) -

Police say shots were fired outside of Western Hills High School on Friday night.

A report of gunfire was made around 9:15 p.m.

Western Hills was playing a sold out basketball game against Withrow High School on Friday evening. Heavy police enforcement was already at the school, due to a sold out game.

Police say the suspect was not inside the school, but rather walked onto school grounds and fired shots outside.

Several people were already standing outside at the time, and game attendees were also exiting the gym as the game ended.

According to authorities, the sound of gunfire caused a lot of confusion and panic for the people leaving the game, considering the events on Friday morning in Connecticut.

Police confirmed that no one was injured in the incident.

First responders chased the suspect, but lost him near Glenway Avenue heading towards the McDonald's.

Officers say the suspect was wearing black clothing and is still at large.
