MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
Authorities say they expect U.S. Highway 231 to remain closed during the overnight hours and early morning hours following a crash involving an 18-wheeler and a passenger vehicle.
The crash resulted in the closure of all north and southbound lanes near Lagoon Park as a result of downed power lines.
The driver of the passenger car was transported to an area hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The Department of Transportation is working to have all lanes open by 6:00am.
Morning commuters are encouraged to plan an alternate route in the event the lanes can not re-open until later in the morning.
