The alleged gunman in Auburn's mass shooting will remain behind bars until trial. A Lee County judge denied bond for Desmonte Leonard Monday afternoon.
The judge denied Leonard's bond for the charge of capital murder of two or more people but granted bond on five remaining charges.
Here is how it breaks down:
- $100,000 bond for each of the attempted murder charges
- $50,000 for the assault first degree charges
- $25,000 for both counts of assault second degree
Because Leonard was denied bond on the capital murder charge, he will not get out of jail before his trial.
The defense has the option to appeal the ruling, but has not decided its action at this time.
Leonard is accused of shooting and killing three people and wounding three others at an Auburn apartment complex in June.
