SAN TAN VALLEY, AZ (CBS5) -
A 4-month-old baby has died after her father discovered her face down in the bathtub of their San Tan Valley home Thursday afternoon.
William Miller, 26, had placed his baby named Georgia in a child bath seat in the tub and was giving her a bath when another of his children came into the bathroom, Pinal County Sheriff's Office spokesman Tim Gaffney said.
Miller scooped up his child and left the room. When he returned about a minute and a half later, he found Georgia face down in the water, Gaffney said.
Miller called 911. The first deputy arrived on the scene within a few minutes and relieved him from performing CPR on the child, Gaffney said.
The deputy and a sergeant who was on scene continued providing the child CPR until medics arrived. Georgia was provided additional medical treatment and then transported by air ambulance to Cardon Children's Hospital in Mesa, where she was later pronounced dead.
