HOOVER, AL (WBRC) -
Hoover Police say that a resident has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting at firefighters.
Phillip Earl Jones, Jr., 45, has been charged with attempted murder and is being held on a $30,000 bond.
Captain Jim Coker says that the Hoover Fire Department responded to a medical call around 4:30 Thursday morning in the 1600 block of Lake Cyrus Club Drive.
After the firemen entered the residence, Coker says that Jones fired several shots.
Responding police officers took Jones into custody and transported him to Shelby Baptist Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He was released a short time later but then take back into custody once the Jefferson County DA issued a warrant against Jones.
