MUSCLE SHOALS, AL (WAFF) -
Muscle Shoals police officer Greg Scoggins was arrested after allegedly killing a deer on federal property.
According to authorities, Scoggins shot the deer from his patrol car while on duty over the weekend.
The Muscle Shoals Police Department placed Scoggins on administrative leave with pay while the shooting was investigated. They have not said if his status has changed with the department since his arrest.
Scoggins was charged with hunting without permission, hunting with the aid of a motor vehicle, and reckless endangerment. He goes before a Colbert County judge on February 5.
