KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

The victims of a hit-and-run over the weekend said they were targeted after a fight inside a club.

The incident happened on Jackson Avenue near 39th Street about 2 a.m. Saturday. Three women were walking out of Champs Lounge, crossing the street to get to their car, when they said another car came out, swerved over and hit them and then took off.

The three women were rushed to the hospital. One is still there, recovering from a broken pelvis. The other two women are still dealing with bruising, pain and the frustration of knowing the women who hit them are still out there.

"I don't feel comfortable with them being out there like that because, if they did us like that, they will do somebody else like that," victim Lakeisha Thomas said.

Thomas and her cousins believe what happened Saturday morning was no accident - they said it started as a fight inside the bar.

"A couple girls was, I'm going to say intoxicated, over intoxication, and they were falling over and I tried to brace her so she wouldn't fall on top of me," Thomas said.

She said the girls came back swinging and both groups ended up getting kicked out of the bar, where the fight continued outside. The cousins said all they wanted was to get to their car and leave, but the other group of women seemed to have another idea.

"They pushed on that gas, just coming real fast, and we couldn't react," victim Ashley McBride said.

"We just went flying up in the air and came back down - they didn't stop, or come back or anything," Thomas said.

A witness watching from his nearby home said it looked intentional.

"They seen the girls walking across the street, and it was on that side of the street. When you should be driving on this side of the street, they was on that side of the street. They got way over there and hit them, and then drove on up the street, pressing it," Charles Hyman said.

All three women who were hit are moms and are grateful they made it back to their kids. But they are looking for justice.

"We just blessed to be alive, but they need to face the consequences of what they did to us," Thomas said.

There were still some pieces of the car on Jackson Avenue near 39th Street Monday. Police said they are looking for a white four-door Dodge.

Anyone with information about the vehicle or its occupants should call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.

A separate hit-and-run on the other side of the state line in Lenexa, KS, left two others with minor injuries early Saturday morning. It happened near 97th Street and Quivira Road.

Authorities caught the driver after he left the scene, but no charges have been filed at this point.
