MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office has released the identity of the suspect wanted in connection with today's homicide in Pike Road.

Deputies were dispatched to the 1000 block of Stableway Road in the Bridlebrook subdivision in Pike Road just before 9 a.m. When they arrived, authorities located 19-year-old Jay McCollum deceased inside the residence.

MCSO requested assistance from the Alabama State Troopers in locating a white male suspect in the area of Old Pike Road and Vaughn Road.

Montgomery County Sheriff D.T. Marshall now says 24-year-old Jason Curtis Ferguson is wanted for capital murder in connection with McCollum's death. Ferguson is also wanted on domestic violence charges in Wetumpka.

Sheriff Marshall says McCollum was asleep when Ferguson allegedly broke into the home on Stableway Road - a motive for the break-in is unknown at this time.

If you know Ferguson's whereabouts you are asked to call your local law enforcement agency or the Secret Witness line at 832-1200.
