What began as a shootout ended in the UGA defense holding Nebraska to just 7 second half points as Georgia beat Nebraska 45-31 in the Capitol One Bowl. Aaron Murray lit up the Cornhusker defense for 428 yd's to go along with 5 td's.
Georgia jumped out to a 9-0 lead shortly after a safety on a Nebraska botched punt attempt. Murray hooked up with tight end Arthur Lynch down the middle for a 29 yard touchdown. Nebraska bounced back with two quick scores including a pick 6 by Will Compton but on Murray's very next pass, he found a streaking Tavarres King down the left side for a 75 yard touchdown.
The Huskers led 24-23 at halftime and 31-23 mid way through the third quarter, that's when Murray found Chris Conley on a crossing pattern which Conley took the distance 49 yards to tie the game at 31.
Murray notched his 4th score of the day on a back shoulder pass to running back Keith Marshall from 24 yards out to make the score 38-31 at the start of the fourth quarter.
