A man who was wanted in connection with a home break-in where thousands of dollars worth of guns and jewelry were stolen is now in a Louisiana jail.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office said Shane Medine, 32, of Prairieville was sought in a November burglary. Deputies reported he turned himself in to the Gwinnett County Police Department in Lawrenceville, GA on Dec. 10.

They said he waived extradition and was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on Dec. 30. He faces the following charges:

Simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling

Simple burglary

Felony theft of a firearm (15 counts)

Simple criminal damage to property

Possession of firearm by convicted felon

Failure to register as a sex offender

His bond was set at $70,292.50 for the charges related to the burglary. However, bond has not been set on the sex offender count.

Authorities said nearly $30,000 in guns and jewelry was taken from a St. Amant home during the break-in. They added much of the stolen property has been recovered and returned to the victims.

Medine's live-in girlfriend, Amber Gorenflo, 18, was arrested on Nov. 7 for her suspected involvement in the burglary. Her bond was set at $105,585.
