CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
A Dearborn County woman will spend the next two years under house arrest.
According to police, Vanessa Dean attempted to burn down her house on Alpine Drive in Hidden Valley in Oct. 2011 with her 4-year-old son inside of the home. Emergency crews on scene were able to rescue the child.
Dean was arrested in Hamilton County after police received a tip that she was in an apartment in Miamitown. She was arrested in January of 2012 and charged with attempted murder, arson and neglect of a dependent.
On Monday, Dean plead guilty but mentally ill.
A judge originally sentenced her to 15 years in prison, but suspended 13 of those years and will now serve two years under home incarceration. In addition, Dean will get supervised visits with her son.
