The Auburn University Board of Trustees is expected to begin work on selecting two board members next week.
The Opelika-Auburn News reports (http://bit.ly/1382c9c) that Auburn's Trustee Nominee Selection Committee will meet Tuesday in the Lt. Governor's conference room at the state capital in Montgomery.
The search is to replace outgoing members District 8 Trustee John Blackwell and at-large Trustee Samuel Ginn, who both had to step down due to term limits and age restrictions.
There are 71 nominees for the two positions.
The Alabama Senate must approve final appointments during its upcoming session, which begins Feb. 5. Trustees serve seven-year terms for a maximum of two terms.
The maximum age to serve, as set by the Alabama Constitution, is 70.
