ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
The Albany St. men's basketball team had hoped to start off 2013 on the right foot after a rough start to the season but they'll have to wait at least one more game to get their first conference win. Andrew Covin scored 16 points and Justin Wilcox added 13 points as the Rams dropped its second SIAC game of the season 72-55 at home against Tuskegee.
The game began with an emotional uplifting as the family of former sports information director Edythe Bradley was honored as part of Donate Life Game night. Bradley passed away suddenly last month and was an organ donor.
Meanwhile, the Albany St. women failed to hold on to a second half lead and lost its first conference game of the season 62-53 to Tuskegee. Sophomore Kedeemya Cooper had a team high 14 points. April Thomas added 10 points. Tuskegee used a 15-3 late second half run in its 9 point victory.
The ASU men are now 1-7,0-2 on the season. The ASU women are now 3-6,1-1. Both teams will host Stillman on Thursday starting at 5:30 p.m.
