BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -
Does Birmingham come to mind as a top worldwide destination? It is a top contender, according to one travel website.
Jetsetter.com has named Birmingham one of the top ten spots to visit in 2013. One big reason is this year's events to mark Birmingham's 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Movement. The website also says staying in Birmingham is very affordable.
"I think the publication hit it. There's a lot of places to visit that cost you a ton of money. Birmingham is not one of those places, yet we are great to visit for family fun. But while you are here this year, you get to take in a once in a lifetime commemoration of 50 years," said Chuck Faush.
If you'd like to see all the destination spots recommended for 2013, visit the ‘Seen on TV' section of this website.
