Dangerously cheesy ... evidence.

A South Carolina man was busted after police say he left a trail of Cheetos to his hiding place after he burglarized a country store.

No, the evidence was not cheese-dust fingerprints, as one might expect.

On the morning of January 6, Kershaw County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to the Cassatt Country Store to investigate a burglary after a delivery man noticed the front glass door of the store had been shattered.

The burglar stole beer, cigarettes, snack foods and energy drinks. But, during the burglary, the suspect somehow broke a bag of Cheetos and left some of the snack chips on the floor of the store.

Surveillance video showed a white car leaving the scene of the crime. Deputies were led to a nearby home, where they found a similar white car.

As they approached the home, deputies noticed more Cheetos on the front porch. Deputies then found the suspect, 19 year old Austin Lee Westfall Presler, in a room with the stolen items from the store. Presler was arrested and charged with burglary.
