GARDENDALE, AL (WBRC) -

Gardendale police say that they are investigating a shooting and stabbing at a home on Country Meadow Drive.

Police say they were called by another resident in the area this afternoon after that person said they heard a gunshot. Upon arriving at the home, officers found two females who had  been shot and a male that had been stabbed.

Gardendale police say that the two females have been transported to the hospital. One female is in stable condition and the other is listed in critical condition. Police add that the male, who they consider a suspect in this case, is also listed in critical condition.

Authorities say that all three persons live in the same house but will not comment yet on their ages, relationship or identity.

However, Bob Alford, a district superintendent with the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church, tells FOX6 News that around 3 p.m. Thursday he received a call that something involving Gardendale Mt. Vernon UMC Senior Pastor Terry Greer had happened.

Alford says he went to Greer's home where he found police presence. Alford adds that Greer has been ill for some time and may suffer from cardiovascular issues. He would not elaborate on any other details.

At one point in the afternoon police officers had blocked off Country Meadow Drive, which is in a residential area behind the Jack's restaurant on Mt. Olive Road.
